Basic Anatomy

In this 2.5 hour virtual, on-demand workshop, you will gain a basic understanding of the bones, joints, and muscles of the body and how they work together to create the movements of our everyday lives. This course covers the basics of the musculoskeletal system you need to prepare for a Pilates, or other fitness, teacher training program.

Prenatal Pilates: Beyond Contraindications

The Prenatal Pilates Workshop goes beyond contraindications with an in-depth explanation of the physiological changes that occur during the different phases of pregnancy and how to best support those changes through Pilates and movement. We will explore the common pathologies that occur during pregnancy, postural changes, precautions, review deep core anatomy and how to utilize deep core training to help support the changing body during pregnancy. Workshop attendees will learn exercises and programming for mat, Reformer, and other apparatuses that best suit people through the various phases of pregnancy, how to modify classical exercises, and how to help clients prevent pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, and other common pregnancy-related issues.

This workshop will empower the instructor to teach pregnant people during private sessions and group classes and give them the ability to empower the pregnant client to understand the changes in their body and how to safely and effectively perform Pilates exercises and other workouts.

Pilates + Scoliosis

Every spine is unique and every individual who has Scoliosis is unique. While there are common forms of scoliosis, no two curves are exactly alike. This 4-hour workshop with Jennifer Olszowy, DPT, CPI, is designed to give pilates instructors, movement professionals, individuals with scoliosis, or even the curious mind, an in-depth knowledge of caring for scoliosis through Pilates-centered movement.

You will leave this workshop with:

  • Knowledge of the “common types” of scoliosis and anatomy
  • Tools for movement assessment and an introduction to scoliometer readings
  • Understanding of scoliosis movement principles and goals, including contraindications and best practices
  • Exercises to use in scoliosis management and improvement including myofascial release, stretching, and strengthening exercises (both with and without Pilates apparatus)

Advanced Reformer Workshop

Ideal for clients of all levels who are interested in deepening their Pilates practice, this two-hour workshop will focus on 7 exercises from the Advanced Reformer repertoire. Clients will be able to identify their own goals and learn the building blocks to help them achieve the Advanced Exercises on their own and in class!
